How to Trace Stolen Crypto Without Connecting Your Wallet

Trace outbound fund flows using only public blockchain data and a transaction hash or address — no wallet connect required.

Why wallet connect is risky after a drain

Victims are often pushed to connect wallets to unknown sites. Legitimate tracing only needs public addresses and transaction hashes already visible on explorers.

What you need

  • The victim wallet address (0x…).
  • One anchor transaction hash if you know the drain tx.
  • The correct network: Ethereum, Arbitrum, HyperEVM, Base, BNB Chain, Monad, or Solana.

What a case file adds beyond Etherscan

  • Recipient ledger with heuristic labels (CEX, bridge, mixer patterns).
  • Fund-flow graph scoped to the incident window.
  • Verification checklist before you forward links externally.
