Stolen USDC on Base: What to Document Before You Contact Support

How to trace USDC and other token outflows on Base after a wallet drain — hashes, times, and what a $20 fund-flow report adds.

Why Base drains look different

Base uses the same address format as Ethereum but a separate chain ID (8453). Support tickets that only list an Ethereum mainnet hash often miss the actual loss on Base.

Document these fields

  • Your Base wallet address (0x…).
  • Every outbound USDC or token transfer hash from the drain window.
  • UTC time of the first suspicious transfer.
  • Whether you still hold other tokens on the same wallet.

What Tracefunds indexes

  • Outbound fund flow and labeled recipients on Base via Basescan APIs.
  • Verification checklist before you forward to an exchange abuse desk.
  • No wallet connect — paste public data only.
