MetaMask Wallet Drained? First Steps (No Recovery Scams)
Practical steps after a MetaMask or browser-wallet drain: secure the wallet, copy transaction hashes, and build evidence without connecting to unknown sites.
Assume the wallet is still hot
- Create a new wallet on a clean device — never reuse the compromised seed.
- Revoke approvals on the correct chain (revoke.cash).
- Do not paste your seed phrase into any “recovery” chat or form.
Evidence MetaMask already shows you
- Activity tab → copy each suspicious transaction hash.
- Note which network (Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, BNB Chain, Solana) each tx used.
- Export is optional; hashes + addresses are enough for on-chain tracing.
When to pay for a structured report
Exchanges want a clear outbound path, labeled deposit addresses, and a victim-safe summary — not screenshots alone. A single $20 scan indexes public chain data into that case file.
